It is past time to let our voices be heard. If we are going to the neighborhood schools concept proposed by Dr. Z for the school year beginning the fall of 2007, we must be sure this neighborhood schools concept is defined and administered the same throughout the Tulsa Public Schools District. If we can have Edison Preparatory School as a neighborhood school with a magnet component, perhaps we can use this as the model for all our neighborhood schools. If all schools are 50% neighborhood, and 50% magnet, I feel we could achieve a good diversity of students in all our schools. This magnet component for all schools was suggested by one of the attendees at the April 14 Education Symposium at Morton. This parent had been involved in the establishment of the magnet component at Edison, and very proud of their accomplishments.
