Goals

  1. Reduce violence in the community by employing youth and engaging them in positive activities that build up instead of tear down our society.

  2. Reduce crime by hiring private security to assist police in patrolling neighborhoods.

  3. Promote cleaner and safer neighborhoods and develop better neighbor relations which will also attract businesses to the area.

  4. Market and highlight positive stories about accomplishments of youth in our neighborhoods and activities taking place to make North Tulsa, and eventually all of Tulsa, a better place to live.

Action Plan

  1. Organize all North Tulsa neighborhoods.

  2. All areas not organized shall be available to be annexed into currently organized associations.

  3. Neighborhood Association members shall coordinate with Networks Tulsa Green Pages LLC to collect funds and obtain membership information from every household in the neighborhood boundaries.

  4. Neighborhood Association Presidents shall have a list of each household name and amount donated for budgetary purposes.

  5. Neighborhood Associations shall have two members as North Tulsa "Task Force" members that act as an over-all coordination and planning group.

  6. North Tulsa "Task Force" shall meet quarterly  to set over-all goals and "best practices" happening within neighborhood communities.

  7. Each Neighborhood Association shall submit names of every child living in the home ages 10-20 years old, and every senior citizen ages 65 or older.

  8. Each Neighborhood Association shall prioritize "projects" needed to be completed in the neighbor such as excessive leaves in drains, limbs needed to be cleared etc. Particularly in assistance to seniors or impending hazard to the area.

  9. Neighborhood Associations shall identify business owners with the expertise or adult individuals that are willing to work with and "supervise" youth working on designated projects.

  10. Neighborhood Associations shall be responsible for submitting a budget for projected funds based upon number of households and youth participants.

  11. Each Neighborhood Association shall have a "treasurer" with the ability to collect and distribute funds when necessary.

  12. "Networks" corporation has the ability to accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and all other forms of payment, to be distributed back to the Neighborhood Association.

  13. "Networks" shall expand their current newsletter to include a section from each Neighborhood Association to highlight the positive activities taking place with our youth and the positive efforts taking place in our North Tulsa neighborhoods.

  14. Dean Finley and north Star Security shall coordinate with Neighborhood Association Leadership and Tulsa Police Department to assist in private security drive by surveillance.

  15. Approximately 1/3rd or $1.65 of each $5.00 collected shall be used to pay for security patrol and associated fuel costs. The remaining funds shall be available for youth employment (cleaning up our neighborhoods initiative).

  16. "Networks" and the Neighborhood Associations will work in cooperation with the City of Tulsa Working in Neighborhoods division to contact absentee landlords and offer to maintain properties at a reduced cost from the subsequent fines the City of Tulsa will levee. These funds go to the neighborhood to hire neighborhood youth. These youth will do the maintenance work supervised by adults with this expertise.
